DealPH Payment Protection Policy

What it is

DealPH Payment Protection is an optional service for orders paid through DealPH checkout. It is not an escrow service and DealPH is not a bank. Payments are processed by our payment provider.

Eligibility and mutual agreement

Protection applies only when both parties explicitly agree: the seller turns on "Offer DealPH Payment Protection" for the listing, and the buyer ticks "I agree to use DealPH Payment Protection" at checkout. Consent is never assumed from signing up, listing, or browsing.

Each agreement is recorded with its date, terms version, transaction amount, fee and expected seller proceeds. If the terms change before payment, the buyer must agree again. For auctions, the seller must opt in before the auction starts.

Fees

Protected orders: DealPH charges the seller 5% of the item price, deducted from the seller's proceeds, and only when the order completes successfully. Example: ₱10,000 sale → ₱500 fee → ₱9,500 to the seller.

Ordinary DealPH checkout without protection: a 3% seller fee applies. Buyers pay no DealPH fee in either case. Payment-provider charges are separate from these fees and are disclosed where they apply.

How it works

1. You pay through DealPH checkout. The order is marked paid only when the payment provider confirms the payment.

2. The seller prepares, ships or hands over the order.

3. After delivery or handover, a protection window starts. You can confirm receipt or report an issue during that window.

4. If there is no open issue when the window ends (or you confirm receipt), the order completes, the 5% fee is applied, and the seller's remaining proceeds become eligible for payout.

Disputes and refunds

If you report an issue within the protection window, the order is placed on hold and the seller is asked to respond. DealPH reviews the evidence. A refund is not guaranteed; it depends on the outcome of the review.

Cancelled or fully refunded orders never complete, so no protection fee is charged. If an order is partly refunded and then completes, the 5% fee is still based on the original item price.

What is not covered

Orders where either party did not agree to Payment Protection; payments made outside DealPH (cash, bank transfer to the seller, e-wallet transfer to the seller); property purchases settled through deeds and title transfer outside DealPH checkout; change-of-mind where the listing was accurate.

Current status

Seller payouts are not yet live. Proceeds are recorded and will be released once DealPH's payout provider setup is complete.
